Our theme for the Week of Prayer for International Missions this year is the word Resound. Based on the dictionary definition, when something resounds, "it is loud enough to fill a space and strong enough to create an echo." Our prayer and task is to play our part in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world in such a powerful way that it resounds and fills the earth as it echoes from person to person in every corner of the globe.
The only way we can do this is with a concentrated and orchestrated effort of people toward this goal. Individuals and churches have to be on their knees in prayer for those who are being sent and those who need to hear. We have to be honest about our call to reach the lost in our homes and neighborhoods as well as about the possibilities that God is calling us to move our home and family to the other side of the world for the glory of God and the sake of others.

Matthew 24:14, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
- What are some reasons that people and churches might struggle to focus their lives on this mission?
This mission is an inevitable certainty. The end will come when all people groups have heard the gospel.
- How should this affect how we formulate our long range goals and ambitions in life?
- How should this affect how we live in our daily lives?
- How should this affect how we do church?
Pray that God would open our eyes and our hearts to this call and what obedience is supposed to look like. Pray that we become individuals, families, and churches who want to play a part in the thing that matters most: the entire world hearing the gospel.
